NATIONAL SERRO SCOTTY ORGANIZATION NEWS

National Rally

We had 29 families in attendance at this summer's rally. We had a wonderful time—I heard many say it was the best one yet! Registrations for the 2009 National Rally have begun and the theme for next year (thank you Jean Ebeling) is "Your Favorite Holiday". Put your thinking caps on. You'll have to come up with something really outstanding to beat our Maryland members: Rob & Toni, and Jean!

The pictures have all been received and the Rally Slideshow CD is in the creation mode now. Expecting it to be going out in the mail in the next two weeks. This CD is part of the rally registration fee for those who registered, but copies will be available for purchase as soon as the copies for those registered are on their way. View Debbie Everett's slideshow of the rally (thanks Deb!). View Amanda's video of the rally (thanks Amanda!).

Scotty Gatherings

Our first ever National Rally group shot. We intend to do it every year, but then, in the fun of the rally, forget! At least two families were missing from this photo.

Web Site Stats

In 2008 so far, we have had 1,819,346 hits coming from an average of 2800 unique visitors per month, who have viewed 163,671 pages.

What do these stats mean? A hit is counted for every file opened. That means, if a single page has four images on it, it counts as five hits every time someone visits it. It is impressive that we have had nearly 2 million hits so far this year, but that isn't the statistic that is important. Unique visitors are. A "unique visitor" means you are counted once, even if you visit 20 times in a month. Averaging 2800 unique visitors in a month is incredible, considering we have never been submitted to any search engine. And, those unique visitors viewing over 163,000 pages is also quite remarkable. Our site is now linked by over 200 other sites. We thank you for making us the best Serro Scotty group ever! Without you, we could not exist.

A Feather in Our Cap!

The NSSO is mentioned in the new book, "Teardrops and Tiny Trailers", just released by Douglas Keister. Doug has authored many beautiful books on vintage trailers and it is a real honor for our organization to get a mention in this very fine book. View the page where we're mentioned...
