Cost of the Rear Door Scotty Rebuild

Labor Time

Remove wheels 1 hour
Remove stripes 2 hours
Remove windows 2 hours
Remove edgestrips 2 hours
Remove skin 3 hours
Remove interior 4 hours
Remove plywood 4 hours
Cut bolts to remove floor 3 hours
Remove dropdown bolts (cut with hole saw & then cut off with grinder) 2 hours
Remove floor 3 hours
Remove wheelwells 3 hours
Remove axle 1 hour
Clean frame - both sides 7 hours
Clean new axle and ready for painting 1 hour
Paint frame 2 coats 4 hours
Paint axle 2 coats 1 hour
Cut plywood for new flooring 3 hours
Remove coupler (cut off with welder) 4 hours
Cut jack hole larger 1 hour
Cut steel and weld on to repair tongue 3 hours
Cut and assemble drop-down 3 hours
Glue up plywood for floor 2 hours
Cut floor framing, drill & chamfer holes in floor 4 hours
Attach framing and drop down floor 3 hours
Clean & paint tongue, jack & coupler with POR15 1 hour
Install new axle & second POR15 coat on tongue/jack/coupler 2 hour
Two coats of Herculiner on bottom of new floor 4 hours
Clean wheel wells and spray interior with truck bed liner in a can 3 hours
First coat of POR "overcoat" on tongue/jack/coupler 1 hour
Attach wheel wells to floor and touch up rubber liner 2 hours
Attach floor to frame (drilling & countersinking holes, etc.) 4 hours
Second coat of POR "overcoat" on tongue/jack/coupler 1 hour
POR15 outside of wheel wells 1 hour
Clean up and add crank & foot to new tongue jack 1 hour
Install wheels/tires & fill screw holes in floor 1 hour
Two coats exterior paint on top of floor 2 hours
Cut 1/2 plywood for both sides (5 sheets - 2 1/2 per side) 1 hour
Cut 1/4" oak beadboard paneling for sides (5 sheets - 2 1/2 per side) 1 hour
Biscuit & glue up one side (1/2" plywood) 1 hour
Laminate oak beadboard to assembled side 2 hours
Install flooring (not finished) 3 hours
Install flooring/clean up original side for pattern/cut new side/glue-up 1/2" plywood for second side 7 hours
